MailOnline Revenues Up 41 Per Cent in a Year
MailOnline has achieved record revenues, up 41 per cent in year to £60 million, according to preliminary full year results from DMGT.
Consumer media arm dmg media, which includes the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, and MailOnline, reported an increase in underlying profit of 28 per cent with the growth from digital revenues “more than offsetting the decline in print revenues.”
Operating profit at Mail businesses grew by 13 per cent over the year with total ad revenues hitting £252 million, an increase of four per cent on the same period last year. The £19 million, 46 per cent rise in MailOnline’s advertising revenues exceeded the £10 million, five per cent decline in print ad revenues.
Martin Morgan, DMGT chief executive, said, “DMGT has again delivered a good set of results, reflecting the benefits of our balanced and diversified portfolio of businesses. This growth was generated by the strength of our B2B companies and, within dmg media, the resilience of the Mail businesses, the benefits of cost saving initiatives and effective portfolio management.”
