Newspaper Conference Lunch With Sajid Javid
The Newspaper Conference is hosting a lunch for Sajid Javid, Secretary of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, on 27 January.
Mr Javid will address London-based regional press political journalists at the event in central London which will be chaired by Annabelle Dickson, political editor, Archant Anglia.
The Conference holds a series of lunches throughout the year. Chancellor George Osborne was the guest speaker at the annual lunch in November at which he spoke at length about the importance of a free press.
“There are battles to be fought but a free and vibrant fearless press is the bulwark against an over mighty state and it’s a protector of the liberties of the citizen and of the resources of the citizen as well,” Mr Osborne told guests.
The News Media Association provides a secretariat for the Conference.
