Sir Martin Sorrell to Speak at Society of Editors Conference Next Week

WPP chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell is among the speakers at the Society of Editors annual conference next week.

Sir Martin will be interviewed by BBC Radio Four presenter Steve Hewlett in a segment entitled ‘Are traditional media making a comeback?’

Other headline speakers at the conference include Culture Secretary John Whittingdale, former Guardian editor-in-chief Alan Rusbridger who will deliver the Society of Editors Lecture, News UK chief operating officer David Dinsmore, and BBC Trust chairman Rona Fairhead.

In recent months, Sir Martin has spoken about the high levels of engagement people have with print media. Sir Martin said last month: “There’s been some very effective work in the UK showing, for example, that newspaper audiences are as big, or even bigger, than audiences of Google.”

Starting on Sunday and running for three days, the ‘Making News Pay’ conference will be held at The Grange St Paul’s Hotel.  is a key arena for media debate on the major issues facing editors, journalists, broadcasters and publishers in all sectors of the media.
