Applications Invited for BBC Local News Partnerships

Applications from local news organisations who wish to receive content under the Local News Partnerships initiative agreed by the BBC and News Media Association will be accepted from Monday until the deadline of 26 May.

The partnership agreement between the BBC and the NMA will create 150 new journalism jobs, a shared data journalism unit, and a facility allowing local news providers access to local BBC material. Online applications can be made via the BBC website from Monday for two weeks.

The initiative, which will see the BBC invest up to £8 million a year for the next 11 years, is the result of an agreement reached by the NMA and the BBC last year which was welcomed by then Culture Secretary John Whittingdale.
