Police: Local Media ‘Incredibly Important’ For Communications
Local media is reaching large audiences online and remains an “incredibly important” channel for police to communicate with the public, a force communications chief has said this week.
Speaking to Radio 4’s The Media Show yesterday, Dorset Police head of communications and engagement Nick Cloke, spoke about the ways in which police communicate with the public to appeal for or give them important information.
Nick said: “We use a whole variety of different media. I would say local media is still incredibly important, what we might call the more traditional media. We’ve seen a lot of our local newspapers move significantly online and do really well there so they are still reaching lots of people.”
