New Featurelink Category Revealed For Local Media Works Awards

The best Featurelink campaign of the past year will be commended in a new category at the Local Media Works Awards which celebrate the vital role of highly trusted local media as the antidote to ad fraud and fake news.

This year’s awards are sponsored by JICREG, the local media audience measurement currency, which provides media planners with highly trusted data for local media’s growing audiences across print and digital.

The awards were set up by Local Media Works to celebrate the power of local news brands as a medium for national advertisers.

For the awards, media planners were challenged with planning a campaign for Airbus with local and regional media at its core for a chance of winning in the seven awards categories.

The new category will recognise the best use of Local Media Works’ Featurelink service which allows national advertisers to boost their ad campaigns in local press with native content.

Featurelink is used by national brands and Government departments who want to engage with local communties in the highly trusted environment provided by local media.

The overall awards winner, who will be announced by News Media Association chairman Ashley Highfield at the awards on Thursday, will pocket £1,000 of Apple vouchers.

Entries were judged by a panel of senior media industry figures chaired by former Starcom Mediavest Group UK chief executive Stewart Easterbrook.
