MailOnline Drives Mail Revenue Growth
Ad revenue growth for MailOnline offset a decline in print revenues for the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday to fuel a growth in ad revenues across the Mail titles, DMGT reported today in its full year results.
Total ad revenues across the Mail businesses increased by £7 million to £248 million, with a £26 million increase in MailOnline’s revenues exceeding a decline in print advertising, the publisher reported.
The website attracted an average 227 million monthly global unique browsers during the year.
Total advertising revenues from the Mail titles grew by two per cent year-on-year with overall revenues also benefitting from cover price increases for the Monday to Friday editions of the Daily Mail.
Operating profit from the Mail businesses grew by an underlying 17 per cent to £71 million.
Metro delivered a robust revenue performance in the context of a declining print advertising market, growing revenues by an underlying seven per cent to £68 million, the publisher added.
