JPIMedia Titles Launch #buyapaper Campaign
JPIMedia titles have launched a campaign to boost newspaper sales in order to fund high quality local journalism.
The campaign was launched this week with an op ed explaining the importance of quality local journalism and urging readers to encourage others to buy their local paper each week.
Mark Edwards, editorial director – Midlands, JOI Media, said: “Local newspapers and their websites are the most trusted providers of news in this country. They are also fierce defenders of the communities they serve.
“But to train journalists to the highest professional standards and to deliver the quality of writing and research on which readers rely costs money.
“So across Britain a new campaign has been launched #buyapaper which urges residents to purchase a copy of their local title every week.”
The campaign, which featured headline industry stats from the News Media Association, is running in daily and weekly JPIMedia titles.
