Reach and South East Water Partnership

To support South East Water’s mission of protecting vital resources for trees, plants, and wildlife, Reach launched a digitally driven, multi-channel campaign across the South East. The initiative aimed to deliver a consistently positive message around water conservation, encouraging communities, particularly in Kent, to take simple steps that make a meaningful difference.

About

South East Water wanted to inspire more people to care for their environment and build a positive narrative around saving water. By partnering with Reach, they were able to engage audiences with content that not only educated but also shifted perceptions of South East Water, highlighting the brand as a trusted and environmentally conscious organisation.

Solution

The campaign combined sponsored content and digital display advertising across trusted local platforms including KentLive, SurreyLive, and InYourArea. This hyper-local approach ensured South East Water’s messages were seen by the right communities, framed in a way that was creative, informative, and accessible. Through engaging storytelling and practical advice, the campaign educated audiences on the importance of conservation while strengthening brand reputation.

Results

The campaign delivered impressive engagement, with the collaboration demonstrating how targeted, locally relevant communication can shift perceptions and encourage positive behavioural change.

“South East Water have engaged with Reach on two specific projects over the last year; a campaign to improve customer satisfaction – telling the stories from behind the tap on a local level, and a campaign to help reduce water consumption in the summer.

“With specific regional challenges to overcome, the ability to locally target messaging into specific areas has been vital in supporting South East Water to achieve its goals. Using a mix of sponsored content, In Your Area posts and boosting campaigns across social media and the Reach network, we’ve seen positive responses to customers in these campaigns.

“They’ve driven up customer satisfaction, provided flexible and responsive account management and helped to ensure that we can keep the taps flowing for all our customers during the summer.”
