One Week Left to Enter Making a Difference Campaign

Local and regional newspapers have just one week left to enter the Making a Difference award for campaigning local journalism.

Local papers wishing to be considered for the award must enter the campaign of the year category at the Society of Editors Regional Press Awards before Friday 6 March.

Making a Difference is part of the annual Local Newspaper Week which this year runs from 11 to 17 May. It showcases the ability of local newspapers in print and online to make a real difference to the communities they serve through powerful and effective campaigning.

Regional Press Awards shortlists will be published in mid-April and the Making a Difference campaigns will be showcased on a relaunched Local Newspaper Week website.

The public will be invited to vote for their favourite Making a Difference campaign in an online poll during the first half of the week and the winner will be announced at the Regional Press Awards, at the Marriott, Grosvenor Square Hotel on 15 May.
