Polish Ambassador: Local Media Can Give a Voice to Polish Communities in UK

The Polish Ambassador to London told a Newspaper Conference lunch this week that local media has a role to play in helping Polish people integrate fully into communities across the UK.

Arkady Rzegocki was the guest speaker at the lunch for Westminster-based political correspondents and editors working for local and regional press titles across the UK.

At the lunch on Tuesday, the Ambassador addressed a range of topics such as hate crime against minority communities, Brexit and the status of EU migrants, and the upcoming Polish Heritage Day which is a new initiative designed to promote better understanding between British and Polish communities.

Mr Rzegocki, said: “We wanted to encourage the local media to give the voice to the local Polish communities because from my perspective it’s a huge chance for us to know each other better and to really make our society even closer than it is now.”
