Complete the Circuit

2023

The Daily Express launched their campaign Complete The Circuit, calling for more life-saving defibrillators to be registered on The Circuit, the national network used to direct 999 callers to their nearest one in emergencies, in a bid to help save lives.

The Express reported: “The machines can be the difference between life and death. But they are currently used by bystanders in less than five per cent of cardiac arrests that occur outside of hospital.”

The chief executive at the British Heart Foundation Dr Charmaine Griffiths praised the campaign, as well as Labour MP Jo Stevens, who tweeted her support:

The campaign has also been supported by Conservative MPs Caroline Dinenage, Steve Double and John Stevenson, as well as Tony Comber, a father of two whose life was saved by a defibrillator and healthcare charity Resuscitation Council UK.

"We applaud the Daily Express campaign to reach 100,000 defibrillators on The Circuit and urge everyone who looks after a defibrillator to register it on The Circuit today – it could save a life."
